DIP DUO WITH HOMEMADE LAVASH CRISPS / laurenariza.com

This set up looks sort of fancy huh? Well, it TASTES and LOOKS fancy but it’s SO easy to make. This one is always a hit. Sometimes I serve just one dip with the crackers, sometimes I make the yogurt and buy the hummus, and sometimes I serve both homemade… Make it as easy or as complicated as your day will allow haha. *TIP: Even if I buy one of the dips, I always try do the swirl with olive oil, nuts, and seeds because it’s so easy and so beautiful.

Lemony Hummus
You Will Need:
1 15.5 oz. can of chickpeas drained
2 Lemons (zest of one juice of 2)
1- 2 cloves of garlic
1/3 cup of tahini
2 Tbs Olive oil (plus extra to drizzle on top)
A dash or two of smoked paprika
3/4 tsp salt
Pepper
Nuts and/or seeds (to sprinkle on top *optional- Pepitas, pistachios, hemp seeds, sesame seeds etc are all great options)

Let it all rip in a blender (excluding toppings)! Adding a Tbs or two of water to thin it out if needed. Refrigerate until ready to serve. When ready to serve: make a deep swirl in the top with a spoon and drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle your nuts and/or seeds on top along the swirl.

Homemade Lavash Crackers
You will need:
1 package of store bought Lavash flat bread (I get mine at Trader Joe’s)
Whatever cooking spray you like (I used organic Olive Oil Spray from Trader Joe’s)
Sesame Seeds
Dried Oregano
Salt
Pepper

Preheat your oven to 425. Spray the surface of a baking sheet that is big enough to fit at least one sheet of lavash.

Lay a sheet of lavash on your baking tray (if there is room for more and you want to save on time you can always cut additional lavash to fit in next to your first sheet).

Spray the top of your lavash evenly with cooking spray. Sprinkle with Sesame seeds, dried oregano, salt, and pepper.

Bake at 425 for 5-7 min or until golden brown but not burned. Remove from oven and set aside. Continue until you’ve baked as much lavash as desired.

Once cool enough to handle, break your lavash into rustic style crackers. Jagged edges and uneven sizing is ideal, it gives it the home made look! Store at room temp in an airtight container until ready to use. (I make a day or two ahead to make day-of easier).

When you are ready to serve- arrange on a platter with your dip/s and enjoy!
