As someone who considers herself quite the bloody mary connoisseur (and by “connoisseur” I mean “freak”) I decided to add a little twist to my usual recipe. Beware though, this one’s a spicy one…. aaaand a bit unique

You will need:

Vodka

Tomato Juice (I use V8 spicy or Clamato)

Soy sauce

Ginger (my favorite little herb tubes are back)

Wasabi (you can find this in almost any grocery store these days)

Lime

Lemon pepper

cellery salt

pickled green beans (optional for garnish… You can sub in regular celery if you’ve got it)

First, prepare the wasabi soy mixture. In a little dish combine about 1 tsp soy sauce and a dollop of wasabi paste (use as much or as little as you like…. I like mine burn-a-hole-in-your-stomach spicy so you may want to use less than you see here).

Next, add your ginger.

Stir well to incorporate; set aside.

Add ice to a tall glass. Fill with 1/4 cup vodka.

Add a generous squeeze of lime, a few dashes of lemon pepper and celery salt, wasabi mixture, and 2 cups of tomato juice. Stir.

Add garnish. I used my homemade pickled green beans (recipe coming soon) but you can use any tall thin cut veggie. Celery or even a carrot stick would work great, you just want to be sure to include something that you can use to stir with (the spices can sink to the bottom after a while leaving you with one intense last sip if you don’t).

Enjoy!
